12 Noteworthy Korean Dramas You Should Check Out Too

When I created my latest top 10 Korean Dramas, the first thing I did was list down all of the shows that affected me in a way that it left a great deal of impression in me. Then I narrowed it down, rearranged some of it then my list was complete. All in all I wrote down 26 dramas.

At first, I didn't want to arrange it based on my preference but as I thought about it more, I came to a decision to group it: (i) for popular but I didn't like so much, (ii) the middle, and (iii) ones that almost made it to my top ten.

The reason for splitting it to three groups because I know people who truly enjoyed those drama. I did too but it really wouldn't make it to my top dramas. That's why it's noteworthy.

Summer Crush Review

Out of the three amazing ladies, I first read of Jay's Blossom Among Flowers (read my review here) then I read Tara's Scandalized last year. I've always wanted to read something by Six but only got to when I saw a copy of Sounds Like Summer in the local bookstore.

It's already the rainy season here in the Philippines but in other countries it's only the start of summer. Huling hirit sa tag-init. Here's my review of Summer Crush, the perfect beach read, the first book before Second Wave Summer.

What I'm Reading this Month

Starting last year, I began to schedule my TBR so I could reduce the stack of books lying around my room and still have time to write and do other things. I can say it's effective for me, but my TBR keeps piling up instead of decreasing (Every bookworm problem). I just like schedules especially if I can stick to it. I have to work on with my writing sched though.

Book Tour: Second Wave Summer Excerpt

Second Wave Summer by Six de los Reyes, Tara Frejas, Jay E. Tria

A Taste of Summer
Six de los Reyes

“Just so we’re on the same page. There’s no boyfriend, is there?” he asked when she returned. As much as he wanted to seem disinterested, even he could tell he was focusing too intently on the calluses on his fingertips. He raised his eyes, blinked away the memories, and grinned.

“Excuse me?”

“I mean, there is no boyfriend currently in the picture?”

She raised a brow. “No.”

“Because I’d rather not be a party to…whatever. Also, I reserve the right to defend myself.”

“A party to…whatever. That happened before?”

“Actively in avoidance of.”

He smiled at her, the kind that said I’m trying to make this better and less awkward and I hope I’m not upsetting you. But she smiled at him too. As if it were he who inspired worry. She was worried about him. About something he’d said.

“It wouldn’t do to make premature conclusions.” That wasn’t an answer.

“I don’t conclude prematurely.”

“I should hope not.”

He was just tripping over his feet and making a fool of himself, wasn’t he?

“But no. No man in my life,” she said, stepping closer, so close a cloud of her scent fell over him. She smelled sweet. A familiar and disconcerting scent he couldn’t place. She anchored her hands on his sides. “Holy latissimus dorsi.”

“What?”

She blinked. “What?”

Book Tour: Second Wave Summer Review

I recently finished Summer Crush (will post a review soon) last May before I started reading Second Wave Summer. It was nice to go back to that universe again with all those lovable people along with the extra new ones I have yet to get to know.

When I started reading this, I only had a vague idea from what I saw on a few tweets. All I knew was it will be at the same setup in La Union and the same summer music festival at the beach. I figured Trainman with Shinta, Arabella, NICO, and Rhys would be there too (from the Playlist Series of Jay E. Tria, Sounds Like Summer and Feels Like Summer of Six de los Reyes). But I knew Ringo and Kris from You Out of Nowhere by Jay E. Tria is one of the couples in the anthology.
