Making It Complicated Review

I didn't sign up for the cover reveal, but it was too bad for me because it was beautiful. Just look at it. I really really really like it. The color, the font, the subjects of the picture, and the plaid shirt (especially this one). I believe my favorite scene in the book was the one with that plaid shirt where Hunter and Cam met again in Iloilo.

Making It Complicated is the second book of I Heart Ilolo series. It is a standalone book. You don't have to read the first one (Keeping the Distance) to understand this though I wish I had read it because Mel and Lance are adorable. This story is about Cam, Mel's best friend, and Hunter, Mel's childhood friend and Integers' drummer. One night in Boracay. (Not what you're thinking). Until sunrise.

But it doesn't end in one night when Cam reaches out to Hunter when they return to Iloilo. Angry with the world, her mother specifically, Cam enters Hunter and Integers' life.

*I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I started reading this at night and only stopped because I needed sleep. Making It Complicated is page-turner with a promise of feelings extending for more than just one night. Cam was relatable and likeable. I could understand how she retreated because she wanted to protect herself. Hunter, on the other hand, was likeable too. He seemed nice. The only thing I didn’t like was his answer about his relationship with Mel, granted I didn’t read the first book. It felt like, for a moment, that Cam was a second choice.

Their romance was amazing nonetheless. That one night that started it all. Don’t get me started with those kisses. I had to fan myself. Honestly. My other favorite part was after the Moon Fest. I couldn't stop smiling. Relationship wise, I liked the part where Cam had to learn that it takes effort to keep a relationship. The ending felt right too, filled with hope.

It’s a light read with the right amount of angst, hot, sexy, and swoony moments. Plus I think you’ll also fall in love with the Integers just as I did. I can’t wait to see more of them.

I don’t know about the print copy of the book but you guys can buy the ebook for $2.99 here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0763KT524
